Will there be season 5 of Stranger Things? ›

It's official: Season 5 of Stranger Things will be its last. Back in February 2022, the Duffer Brothers announced the news themselves in an open letter shared with fans alongside season 4's official poster. "Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things," the duo wrote in their letter.

Will Byers will be the central character in the final season of Stranger Things, with his emotional journey tying the series together. The crew of friends will face their biggest battle yet for their safety in Hawkins.

He doesn't “have powers" in the sense of what Eleven, or in fact any of the numbered children, can do. All he can do is feel when the Mind Flayer is nearby. Will has been through a lot, more than anybody else except Eleven can even imagine, let alone understand. He got pulled into the Upside Down against his will.

While intending to get his revenge on Eleven and Brenner, Vecna also goes after victims who have dealt with traumatizing experiences in the past (reminiscent of his childhood and his time at the Hawkins lab).

In a fit of rage, Henry used his restored powers to brutally murder the other test subjects and workers, and attempted to do the same to Eleven. However, Eleven stood her ground and ultimately overpowered him, sending him through a gate to the Upside Down; there, he gradually transformed into the being known as Vecna.

The novel titled Flight of Icarus will be set in 1984, two years prior to the events of season four and will release on 31 October 2023. The story tells the tale of Eddie being on the verge of realising his dream to make it big with his band Corroden Coffin, after meeting a record producer named Paige.

Andrew Rich was a character introduced in the Stranger Things novel Suspicious Minds. Andrew was the biological father of Eleven and the boyfriend of Terry Ives. Andrew Rich was born on September 14, 1951. Andrew grew up with relatively well off parents who paid his way through college.

With a year of filming planned and potentially not starting until the end of Summer or even into the Fall, any hope of a 2024 release date is over, we now expect Stranger Things season 5 to be released on Netflix sometime in the Spring or Summer of 2025 at the absolute earliest.

Plans for filming the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” has been paused due to the writers' strike.

Initially, the Duffers had hoped to shoot Stranger Things seasons 4 and 5 back-to-back, but that didn't come to fruition. While a production plan was in place for Stranger Things season 5, work on the final installment was delayed indefinitely as part of the WGA strike.
